This privacy policy applies to the Timeline Visualizer app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by Orvixa Studio (collectively, the "Application"). Timeline Visualizer is designed to process sensitive location history locally while utilizing third-party services for analytics and advertising.
Data the App Can Access (Local Processing)
Your exported Google Maps Timeline file (JSON) is never uploaded to our servers. The app reads only the Timeline file and imported MP4 documents that you explicitly choose using Android's system document picker. The Application does not request device background location tracking, Google account access, contacts, photos, or broad storage permissions.
Data Storage and Caching
The selected JSON file is not copied permanently into app storage. After a successful import, the app may keep a compact preprocessed copy of normalized Timeline points in its private temporary cache so the document can open faster. Generated videos are written through Android's media storage interfaces (e.g., MediaStore under Movies/Timeline Visualizer).
Cached basemap image tiles remain in the app's temporary cache for no more than 30 days. You can remove these files at any time by navigating to your device's Settings → Apps → Timeline Visualizer → Storage & cache → Clear cache.
Network Use & Third-Party Map Sources
To render the visual map, the Application requests raster map tiles from CARTO using OpenStreetMap data. Those requests contain standard zoom/x/y tile identifiers and normal network metadata (such as an IP address). The Application does not send your Timeline JSON, route coordinates, or generated videos to CARTO or to the developer.
Automatically Collected Information & Advertising
While your location files are processed offline, the Application utilizes third-party SDKs to support functionality, advertising, and analytics. When you use the Application, we may automatically collect:
- Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address and mobile operating system.
- Session duration, crash reports, and interactions within the app.
- Advertising identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID) to serve personalized ads via AdMob.

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. International Data Transfers
Our third-party service providers (like Google and Firebase) may transfer personal data to countries outside your country of residence. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, appropriate mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are utilized.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain automatically collected data (such as analytics) for up to 24 months. You can stop all further collection of information by uninstalling the Application. Uninstalling will also remove any local cached Timeline data on your device. However, generated MP4 videos saved in your device's public Movie folder will remain until you manually delete them.
Children's Privacy
The Application is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this from our associated third-party servers.
Security
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the limited information we (or our third-party SDKs) process and maintain.
